She has been involved in sport since childhood, eventually specializing in ice hockey, which she ultimately played at university. Amanda has worked in NCAA athletics for Sport Manitoba and a provincial sports organization. She believes in equal opportunity, the benefits of being a multi-sport athlete, and the role sport plays in creating opportunities and developing leaders.
